With our packaging we halve emissionsΒ OfΒ CO2 in the atmosphere
Our company pays much attention to the area of ββenvironmental pollution. Actions that may seem irrelevant in terms of reducing emissions, instead turn out to be decisive and can contribute enormously to reducing the impact that man has on the environment around us.
For more than a year, our company has been committed to reducing emissions linked to the packaging of our internal wooden and glass doors. By replacing the old polystyrene casings for the glass doors, with protections made of cardboard, capable of cushioning the blows received during transport.
Thanks to the choice adopted, it is possible to save over 10 kilos of carbon dioxide for each single packaging. This figure, compared to the numerous orders shipped to more than 50 countries, reaches considerable figures in terms of reducing emissions into the atmosphere.
We ship our internal doors in cardboard packaging
Our products require particular attention on the transport front. Since these are furnishing elements, the aesthetic aspect is the main factor to consider. The situation becomes further complicated when the fragility of the glass doors is combined with the aesthetic aspect. In fact, these products must be protected from any impact or vibration that may occur during the transport phase, which mostly occurs via express couriers. The most obvious alternative was the use of polystyrene protections, but after careful consideration and study to reduce CO2 emissions, we ended up replacing these protections with a different, far less polluting material, cardboard!
Cardboard packaging is able to satisfy our customers
With this innovative packaging system, our customers have shown a high level of satisfaction, especially those most sensitive to environmental issues. But the best level of appreciation is due to the fact that polystyrene protections are much more cumbersome and difficult to dispose of, especially with new separate waste collection services.
Let's halve emissions into the atmosphere
Our company has always been committed to adopting measures capable of reducing CO2 emissions. In fact, in addition to trying to increasingly improve the packaging and structures of the products shipped, we are able to produce almost all the electrical needs of our line of production thanks to the use of photovoltaic panels with over 150 kW. installed. The study carried out by a company that provides information on sustainability and energy shows that cardboard packaging, compared to polystyrene, is able to reduce atmospheric emissions by approximately 400 kg of CO2 per 100 kg of material. A further advantage consists in the recycling of the two products, going from a percentage of around 10% for polystyrene versus 100% for cardboard packaging. In numbers, the CO2 savings for each cubic meter of packaging product are just over 15 kg for cardboard compared to around 65 kg for polystyrene. We can compare these numbers to the equivalent of carbon dioxide absorbed by nearly 6,000 trees.
